Cast Basalt tiles are naturally occurring basalt rock wear resistant material. Offering superb abrasion resistance this mineral is quarried, melted, cast and annealed to form a fine crystalised glass ceramic of extreme hardness that resists erosion. Cast Basalt is supplied in pipe and tile form and provides an excellent hardwearing surface for corrosive wear and abrasion protection of equipment.
The tiles manufactured in such manner has excellent properties and, consequently, is widely used in various industries where successfully withstands mechanical or chemical attacks. Also, plates made from basalt are in demand in the places where an original aesthetics is required, where it is necessary to stand out of the pack and to make an unusual view for the interior. Cast basalt tiles are manufactured with smooth and skid resistant surfaces, in the form of mounting bases (L-sites) and slabs of the specific shape.
Cast basalt tiles Features:
- Wear Protection Applications up to approximately 400°C
- Increases coefficient of friction as it wears creating favourable flow conditions
- Available in straight pipe, bends and shapes
- Mohs ceramic hardness of 8, diamond has a value of 10.
